TIM PENNING PUBLISHES BOOK CHAPTER
Tim Penning wrote a chapter entitled “Donors Preferred Information Types, Qualities and Sources,” which was published in the Handbook of Financial Communications and Investor Relations. According to the publisher, the Handbook features “contributions from leading scholars and practitioners in financial communication and related fields—including public relations, corporate communications, finance, and accounting” and “provides readers with a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of investor relations and financial communications as they are practiced in North America and around the world.”

On Wednesday, January 31, Dr. Penning presented the results of his extensive published research in this area to 60 nonprofit professionals, as part of the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy‘s Brown Bag Lunch & Learn series.
TIM PENNING PUBLISHES ARTICLE IN PR JOURNAL
Tim Penning’s article, “High-Performing Corporate Communications Teams: Views of Top CCOs,” was published in PR Journal, a peer-reviewed journal operated by the Institute for Public Relations and available online for academics and professionals alike. He collaborated on the paper with Mark Bain, a consultant and former head of global PR for Amway and several other companies and global PR firms.

TIM PENNING ACCEPTED TO ARTHUR W. PAGE SOCIETY
This week, our colleague Tim Penning was accepted as a member of the prestigious Arthur W. Page Society, an organization of the top CCOs and PR pros of the largest organizations in the world.
In considering Tim’s nomination, Don Stacks, legendary professor from University of Miami and Page board member, said that the best PR program in Michigan is not at UM or MSU, but Grand Valley—because of what Tim and his colleagues have done over the years to get our students involved and our program known nationally.
TIM PENNING NAMED TO PRSA COLLEGE OF FELLOWS
Tim Penning was named as a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) College of Fellows. This is a high honor that required six letters of support from advanced professionals, the endorsement of the local PRSA chapter, and evidence of Tim’s excellence in PR, with 20 examples from his career across 4 categories.
