The Grand Valley State University Theatre major will be hosting auditions for Kindertransport on Thursday, September 12 from 5-8 in PAC Louis Armtrsong Theatre and Friday, September 13 from 2-4 in the Kirkhof Center room 0072. Kindertransport is by Diane Samuels and directed by Professor Karen Libman of the School of Communications.
The program is looking to take on five women and two men. Aspiring performers are encouraged to sign up at the Performing Arts Center box office between 10-5 for an audition time. The audition script is available on e-reserve, but no preparation is necessary.
The production is about the movement to rescue unaccompanied children from Nazi Germany in 1983. It is set in Nazi anti-Sematic activity and focuses on a child of the Kindertransport who is separated from her mother.
Involving difficult themes and overlapping time frames, this production will be a challenge for all of those involved. Compassion and understanding are key attributes of all actors aspiring to be a part of this performance.
