Theatre alumna (’77) takes on the story of John and Abigail Adams

GEM Theatrics is the husband and wife acting team of Gary E. Mitchell and Mary Beth Quillin (Theatre ’77).   GEM Theatrics is committed to providing a quality entertainment experience at your venue and are also pleased to offer acting and other educational workshops for your school, community group or theatre.

There newest production premieres on November 11, 2011 at the Dog Story Theater in Grand Rapids.  “My Dearest Friend“, by local playwright Mary G. Kron chronicles the true love story of the lives of John and Abigail Adams.  Using original sources, Kron has created a touching flash back of the high points of their life together through the American Revolution and beyond.  This stunning, new, two-character play brings history alive as it touches your heart and fives you new insights into this most modern of historical couples.

Mary Beth last appeared at GVSU as a guest artist in the 1999 production of “Major Barbara”.  Gary appeared as a guest artist in the GV Shakespeare Festival production of “Hamlet” in 2005.
